In our busy schedules sometimes we find ourselves feeling overwhelmed. In Rest and Restorative Yoga we will explore gentle movements in our bodies and allow our bodies to recover and heal. Rest and Restorative forms are a perfect way to silence the mind, quite the heart, and look inwards. This is a good time to restore yourself through forms that will leave you feeling refreshed and renewed. Restorative postures help to release stress and tension that is bound up inside the body especially in the ligaments and tendons. This leads to our bodies feeling stuck preventing us from moving freely. Finding stillness in restorative forms will provide you with the ability to turn your gaze inwards; becoming more intune with every muscle in your body. And as they say, practice makes perfect. If you can, find a quiet place to practice restorative forms without distractions and keep what I like to call “monkey chatter ” to a minimum.
